Shipping Instructions & Forms
After cooling the specimen properly via field care tips provided above, wrap the animal in several layers of heavy plastic bags (garbage bags work well for this) and freeze solid if you haven't already done so. Some large specimens can take up to three days to freeze solid. Place the frozen animal(s) into a Styrofoam cooler and pack tightly with alternating layers of newsprint or fiberglass insulation and gel ice packs. DO NOT use dry ice as it is illegal to ship through several couriers and fines can be incurred. Tape off the Styrofoam cooler and place it inside of a cardboard box. If it is loose, add newsprint or more insulation so the cooler does not wiggle around inside the box. Please print out the Taxidermy Work Order PDF and fill it out and sign the required fields. Place this, as well as your payment into an envelope and place inside of the box, taped to the top of the cooler. Seal the package tightly and send via USPS, UPS, or Fed-Ex overnight or next day services. ONLY SEND PACKAGES ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY! PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE SENDING ANY PACKAGES!

If shipping Migratory Birds (Ducks, Geese, Coots, Rails, Gallinules, Swans, Doves, etc.) Please fill out the Taxidermy Work Order PDF, Migratory Bird Record, & Yellow Federal Migratory Bird Tag. Fill out completely and send with your specimen. The Yellow tag MUST be attached to the foot of the bird. Multiple birds require multiple copies of this paperwork. For example, if you send three ducks, three accompanying sets of forms for those three ducks should be sent as well. The customer # area is for my own personal records to maintain order of specimens and is the first three letters of your last name, the first three letters of the species sent and the date sent.

For Example: if you are customer John Doe, and you send a Gadwall on 1/23/2013, the customer # would be: DOE-GAD-12313

Any species requiring special permits such as CITES animals must include their proper paperwork and tags. More information about CITES animals can be found HERE.

Big Game species are best sent skinned, fleshed, and salted. If you are hunting out west for Big Game, I advise you to contact a local professional taxidermist and arrange for these species to be properly skinned, fleshed, turned and salted. Horn and Antler plates can also be split to reduce shipping costs. They can then be mailed to me and I will send them to my tannery. Please notify me of any shipments, fill out the Taxidermy Work Order PDF, and mail with payments.
